2から8才向けのカラー絵本。イラストが中心なので説明はシンプル。小児で発病の多い急性リンパ性白血病に重点がおかれた説明になっているので、治療手順の違う患児にはフォローがいるかもしれません。大人向けの解説書がセットになっています。

日本でも子供に病気のことや治療のことを伝える本が出たことを心強く感じます。それだけ、白血病の治療を終えて普通に暮らしていく子供が増えているからだと思うので。「告知は慎重に」という考え方もあると思いますが、この本では「病名をきちんと告知すること」を重要視していて考えさせられます。 幼い子にもわかりやすいように、大きな活字で 分かち書きでかかれています。また、ふりがなもふってあります。
