学生時代には眺めてしかいられなかった…それなのに、医師として働き始めた途端に覚えさせられる、それが臨床手技です。動・静脈採血、サーフロー、中心静脈カテーテル、胸腔ドレーン、心肺蘇生、気管内挿管…毎日やっていれば誰にでも出来る、その程度のことでしかない、偉くも何ともないことなのですが、それゆえに先輩に(特に先輩看護師に)頭が上がらず悔しい思いをすることでしょう。

そんなとき、この本はとても役に立ちます。ポケットに入れるには無理がありますが、大きい分だけ見やすい写真。とにかく、綺麗なカラー写真でいっぱいの一冊、その点に驚かされるはずです。他の手技マニュアルでは到底及ばない領域に達していると言えます。手の空いた時を見つけて目を通し、本番に臨むことで、明らかに他の研修医に大きな差をつけることが出来ます。

研修医が行うには過ぎた手技も掲載されていますが、そこは"大は小を兼ねる"で目をつぶるしかないかな、と思います。
