北京五輪の競泳で、世界新記録が続出したことと無関係ではないであろう、
ウワサの水着をはじめ、さまざまなジャンルの競技ウエアに着目した本です。

ビーチバレーでは、強い選手ほど小さくなる女子選手の水着。
男性の目を引くためではありません。きちんとした理由があるのです。
バレーボールは、奥ゆかしい日本人選手とは対照的に、日本でプレーする外国人選手の
中には、日本のユニフォームはダサいからもっとセクシーにしてくれと要求する選手も
いるという。

卓球では暗いイメージを払拭したいと四元選手がファッショナブル（ちょっと奇抜！？）
なユニフォームを自ら作ったことも話題になりました。

その他、なぜ青い柔道着を使用することになったのか、野球で帽子をかぶるようになった
ルーツなど、ウエアにも歴史やエピソードがあって面白いものです。
