伝統的な畳紙からコースター、蝶の形の箸置き、バスケット、ナプキンリングまで・・・・とってもかわいい小物が掲載されています。お正月やクリスマスなど季節のオーナメントもありバリエーション豊か。たくさんの折り紙作者の作品を集めているからでしょう。難易度も星の数で表示されています。和紙の美しさで日本の伝統美も見なおしますし、洋紙ではモダンでシャープな質感です。紙の選び方もあり親切な一冊です。大人のための折り紙ですが、小学生も楽しめます。

この本は、すばらしい。
私は折り紙が好きで、数々の折り紙本を持っていますが、
これはその中でもイチオシです。


１人の著者が書いた本では、
どうしても作品の傾向が似たものばかりになり、
作者のひとりよがりになってしまっているものが多いですが、
この本は、たくさんの折り紙作家の傑作集となっており、
センスがとても良いと思います。

私がこの本を購入したのは・・・
ルイス・サイモン作「くす玉鉛筆立て」という作品を
どこかのＨＰで見つけ、なんとか作り方を知りたいと思い、
検索を重ね、やっとこの本を見つけました。

くす玉鉛筆立ては、表紙の左下に写真が載っています。
実際に作ってみましたが、普通の15cm×15cmの折り紙で作れるし、
しかもとても簡単に作れるのに、実用にも充分耐える。
また、デザイン的にも優れています。

他にも、星型のポプリケース、壺型楊枝入れなど、すばらしい作品がめじろ押しです。
