先日、ほんとに偶然、著者の「とよた　かずひこ」さんにお会いする機会がありました。

近くの小学校に来た「お話隊」とともにいらしてくれたとよたかずひこさんはどんどこももんちゃんをはじめ、ご自分の作品をいくつかよんでくださいました。その中でも「どんどこ　ももんちゃん」は「どんどこ　どんどこ」というフレーズが子供たちの頭の中に残るのか、みんな「どんどこ　どんどこ」と言っていました。あまり絵本をほしがらないうちの息子が珍しく「おかあさん　買って」って言いました。そのくらい、子供の心に響くものがある絵本のようです。
ももんちゃんがクマを倒し、転んでも急いでいたわけ。それがわかったときに心がほんわか、あったかーくなりました。
親の私も大好きな絵本のひとつになりました。

このシリーズは、赤ちゃんがとにかく喜びます。

絵柄がかわいいのもポイントですが、ストーリーに無理がなく、ももんちゃんという赤ちゃんの感情がダイレクトに伝わってきます。

シリーズにはももんちゃんがお母さんとスキンシップをする場面も多く、読んでいる大人も温かい気持ちになれるはずです。

筆者の子どもへの愛情がひしひしと伝わってくる名作です。

１歳４ヶ月の娘がいますが、ももんちゃん大好きです。
言葉の響きもいいのだと思いますが、シリーズの中ではこの「どんどこ」が一番好きです。
こんなに一所懸命、どんどこどんどこ…
どんどこ進んで、どこに行くのかと思ったら…
ラストのももんちゃんの顔がたまらなく可愛いです。オススメ。
