タイトルは「YouTubeは--」というものだが、それは、最近のネットビジネス界
を代表したサービスとして名前を使っているに過ぎない。実際には、
「最近のネットビジネスが成功したのはなぜ？　どこがウケている？」
を、この業界にもあまりなじみがない人にもわかりやすくまとめている本だ。
ともすれば、専門用語やマニアックな話ばかりが並びそうなところを、
平易な文章でまとめきっているの点に執筆者の高いレベルを感じさせられた。

一方、いわゆるIT業界だったり、Webサイトの構築の専門家が読んでも、
新たに得られる知識はほとんどない。ニュースサイトで、このあたりのネタは
こまめにフォローしているよという人には必要がないかも。そういう人たち
には、知らない人にはこんな風に説明するとわかりやすいのか〜と学べる内容
になっている印象だ。

You Tubeを初めて見たとき、こんなのがタダでCM無しで見れちゃうの？！と驚きました。
それまで他のサイトで、CMの間は早送りできずイライラしながらも、サイトの運営には広告が必要なんだろうと半ば諦めていたところ、CM無しでどうやって利益を得てるのか不思議でした。
この本を読んで、その疑問が解けたうえ、それを作った人達や取り巻く環境、現在のものづくりの世界など、すごく面白く一気に読んでしまいました。
一般的にビジネス書は説明が難しいかと思っていましたが、表現が短かでとっても分かりやすかったです。かなりおすすめです。

IT系の歴史が書いてあるだけで、結局成功要因の記述は
いろんな方面に考え方が分散してしまっている気がする。

結局最後に「セコイヤキャピタルの投資眼がすごい」
で閉めてるあたり。自分の考えが無くセンスを感じない。

以下の部分はかなり面白かった。

1.歴史は繰り返す
2.ITバブルの隠された意味
3.ITによって変わる各国事情
