文芸春秋の『10年後の日本』が、40〜50もの幅広いテーマをコンパクトに整理しているのに対し、野村総研の『2010年の日本』は重点テーマを鋭利に絞り込んでいる。特に2章から4章までが面白かった。2章では、団塊世代の2周目の生き方を構造化してみせ、ビジネスの変化方向を展望している。3章では、現代日本社会を｢自分探し｣蔓延社会と定義し、いかにして働くモチベーションを引き出すかが検討されている。4章では、余剰化する社会資本を創造的に破壊するパラダイムがテーマになっている。文芸春秋型の包括的な日本の論点よりも、野村総研型の焦点の絞込み、処方箋を深く考えていくアプローチの方が、個人的には好きである。いろいろ経営上のヒントを得たので、星５つにさせていただいた。

団塊世代の大量退職、国家財政の悪化、社会保障の破綻、BRICSの台頭など世界的な競争の激化、フリーターやニートの増加など、日本経済の近未来については、比較的暗いトーンで語られることが多い。

しかし、本書では「雇用社会から起業社会へ」というテーマに基づき、2010年を時代の転換期としてポジティブに捕らえているのが印象的だ。戦後から一貫した「成長経済」から脱却し、多様な価値観や選択肢の中で、自らの創意工夫により想いを実現していく「成熟経済」へと変化していく、その新たな可能性が本書を読んで実感することができた。

近未来に起こるであろう、こうした変化が楽しみになる一冊。暗いニュースや悲観論ばかりで疲れたときに是非読んでほしい。分量も多くないので一気に読めます。

本書は、野村総研の自主研究プロジェクト「2010年の日本」のメンバーにより執筆され、昨年末に発行されたばかりの本です。

これから予想される人口のピークアウト、団塊世代の大量リタイアメント、中国との競争激化などが、５年後の日本にどのような本質的な変化を引き起こすかについて、総合的な分析を行っています。

団塊世代のセカンドライフに関するアンケート調査結果や、「団塊自由人」の登場によるマーケットの変化の考察（@旅行産業の「人間関係デザイン産業」化A中古循環・再生市場の拡大B既存の小売業態の支持率低下等）、社会資本の不良債権化、そして、ＩＴトレンド（ロングテール・マーケッティング、ワイマックス等）まで幅広い内容となっています。

『10年後の日本』（文芸春秋「日本の論点」編集部編 文春新書）とあわせて読めば、歴史的ターニングポイントにある日本の現状と将来のイメージが掴めると思います。
