真山先生の作品は一通り目を通しましたが、
過去の作品をもしのぐスケールの大きな作品。
プロットの組み立てや人物描写はまさに匠の域。
ストーリーの良さも然ることながら、
一貫して伝えたい熱いメッセージが伝わってきます。
この作品に真山先生の真髄を見たような気がします。

中国社会の実情、腐敗の構図、中国国民のものの考え方、
中国相手にビジネスする方にとって有益な情報が多々あると思います。
また原子力に関する知識もつきます。

われわれが決して忘れてはいけない「希望」
命題のない混沌とした日常に、
「希望」という魂を注いでくれる
そういう作品です。

上巻も下巻も非常に面白いが、最後が「これで終わり？」っと呟きたくなる内容に、何とも言えない虚しさに釈然としない気分です。

上下巻は一気に読めます。（３時間程）
早く読めると言うことは、文章が良いと言うことだと思います。
特筆すべきは・・・
不覚にも終末に進むに連れて目頭が熱くなりました。
「仕事」「命をかける」「人を愛する」とはこうであって欲しい。
「人間」の真の姿はこうであって欲しい。
そんな「人間」の存在、人間の様々な営みに対する
「浪漫」を呼び起こしてくれます。

日本人であることの意味。
自分の立場をちゃんと見る必要を忘れていた。
浮かれている自分を自覚しました。
