　目次を見ても分かるように、医学的、薬学的な効用だけでなく、日本の地域的、歴史的、民族的、そして文学的な視点からハーブに迫っています。

　ハーブ・オイルの精製法やチンキの製造法など、魔法使いの気分が味わえるクッキングのやり方も、実にわかりやすく図解で示されているのが、とても有用であると思いました。これほどまとまった製造法は、日本語のネットでもそう簡単には見つけられないのではないでしょうか。

　著者は村上志緒さんだけでなく、十数人におよぶ専門家による分担執筆で、それぞれ適度に余計な事が書いてあって、それが面白い。国内外の参考文献リストはそれだけコピーして保存しておく価値がある。是非、購入して手近においておきたい一冊であると思います。

沢山の詳細なデータが載っていて大変重宝しそうです。
ハーブの収穫・保存の仕方から、多彩な利用方法まで紹介されています。
が、欲を言えば、多少で良いのでカラー（写真）が欲しかった…。
全てのハーブの説明に丁寧なイラストが添えられていますが、悪く言えばそれ（イラスト）だけです。
植物図鑑と併せて利用すれば、より完璧なハーブライフが送れそうです＾＾

薬草図鑑はいろいろありますが、とてもおしゃれですぐに使えて、学名・成分・伝説・名前のいわれなどとてもくわしいので使えます。
イラストもおしゃれで、本棚にあってもかわいい感じで若い女性にもおすすめ。
