アロマテラピーの本はいろいろ持っているので、どうしようかな~と思いましたが、先に図書館で借りて内容を見て、これは手元に置いても良いかも・・と購入しました．　ベーシックだけれど他の本では見つけられなかったような知識が入っています．　基本的なことだけれど、どの本を読んでもすっきりしなかったことや、ここが知りたかった！といったことが分かりやすく説明されており、人それぞれ求めるポイントは違うでしょうが、私にとっては自分の理解においても、人にお話する場合においても参考になるとても有用な本となっています．　エッセンシャルオイルの紹介も、とかくたくさんの作用があって混乱しがちなところを、焦点をしぼって書いてあるので特徴をつかみやすいです．　またハーブについての記述もあり、アロマテラピーと併用するのに役立ちます．　特にハーブの説明では、タンニンとかフラボノイドなどの有効成分の働きにまで言及されているのが良かったです．　一般的なハーブの本では、言葉としては出てきますが、実際それがどのような働きを持つから体にいいのかという説明がなかなか見つけられなかったので、これでよく分かりました．

アロマテラピーでよく使われる精油についての特徴やホームケアとしての使用方法などが簡潔明瞭に書いてあり参考になる。歴史や専門的なメカニズムや化学、キャリアオイルやハーブの記載もあるので、ビギナー向けの本の後に買うとちょうどいいかも

本当にベーシックな情報が細かく記載されている。各ハーブの基本情報は記載されている種類が少ないのでいまひとつ物足りない。最初の1冊としてはおすすめ。
