文章作成に際し多様な感覚表現例を12分野―光影・色彩・動き・状態・音声・音響・嗅覚・味覚・触感・痛痒・湿度・温度―の描写一覧からすぐ検索できる。

ただ、これはあくまでも先人たちの表現方法なので、それを咀嚼しながら、自分の中で新たな表現方法を考えていくべきだろう。自分が表現したい感覚例を先人から学びながら、それを越えるものを描く。作家志望者必須の本かもしれない。

イマイチ使い方が解らない。
調べても載っていない感覚・対象の方が多いので、辞書としては役に立たない。
これは、別に編者の腕が悪いという分けではなく、
索引を付けるのが非常に難しいと表現が無限にあるから。
通常感覚を表現するには、対象(桶、井戸など)と感覚(侘び、寂び)など２つ揃って意味がある。

しかし、書籍の辞書ではこの二つをインデクス化するのは困難だ。
インデックスばかりになるし、最大の欠点は、苦労索引をつけても、
大して引きやすくならないということ。
さらに、無限に近い表現を詰め込むのに書籍は向かない。

『引く』という発想では無く、表現を『知る』という用途なら使えそうだ。
例をあげれば、世界の格言集みたいな感じだが、

断片化を意図していない文章が多く、読んでもあまり面白くない。
しかし、知らない表現は多々ある。

また、ピッタリ来る表現を見つけてもそのままでは使えないから困る。
ただ、同じ表現が無いか調べることは出来る。
だが、検索が面倒なので実用的とは言い難い。

しかし、挑戦という意味では、大いに意義があったと思う。

だから、個人的には使えない(扱えない)から星一つの所、星二つにしました。

あと、読めない漢字が多かったので、振り仮名をつけて欲しかった。
例：甍、幌、驟雨、檜笠、陰翳など

私はこの本をamazonで購入したので事前に本の帯を見ることはできませんでしたが、帯の紹介文を引用します。

「日本人のゆたかな感覚表現…微妙に変化する夕焼けの色、野を駆ける風の音、かぐわしい若葉のにおい、口にひろがるワインの味、うぶ毛のこそばゆさ」

本の内容も大体上記の例文と同じような表現で占められています。予想よりもシンプルな表現が多く、私が期待していた修飾過多でお腹がいっぱいになるような表現はほとんどありませんでした。

「それほど難しくない表現のはずなのに言葉が出そうで出てこない」というような時には役にたつかもしれませんが、既に稚拙ながら文章で表現ができてしまっているものをさらに巧い表現にしようとする場合にそれほど役には立たないかと思います。

数も多いですが似たような文章もまた多いです。量より質の高い辞典にして欲しかったです。
