~本書は短編集なのですが、その５つはばらばらではありません。登場人物が少しずつ重なっていて、最後まで流れるように進みます。そのすべてをまとめるのがエッグスタンドというバーです。このバーの女性バーテン、泉さんが飾るお花が、物語の中に季節感と色彩を与えていて、ばらばらになりそうなお話を同じ方向に向かせているようです。

基本的には安楽椅子探偵の形式をとっていますが、謎解きをするのはひとりではありません。そしてその謎の解き方も、探偵さんにありがちな「教えてあげよう」といった一方的さがなく、あくまでも日常生活の中にことんと落とされたような、ふつうの生活の一部のような印象を与えます。

加納さんのお話は、いつでもあったかい。推理小説とはちょっと違う。ミステリーと言っても、なんか少し違う。すでに加納朋子というジャンルと言ってもいいかも。~

「ミステリー」好きの人には、「これがミステリー？」と思われるかもしれないけど、私的には立派なミステリー！物語全体を包む雰囲気がなんとも素敵で、とってもお洒落。キャラクターも魅力いっぱいで、クールな大人の恋愛か？と一瞬思うんだけど、実はホットな恋愛だったり＾＾；

話自体もおもしろいけど、全編に渡ってやさしさを感じることができる素敵な小説です。春先や、秋の夜長のお供に最適の一冊。

本書は短編だが、5つの話は連作になっている。

＜エッグ・スタンド＞は女バーテンダーの泉さんが一人で切り盛りするバー。季節の花をあふれんばかりにかざっている。最初に主人公となる二人がその店を訪れたときは春。店の中は満開の桜で覆いつくされていた。”僕”と”私”は＜エッグ・スタンド＞に何度も足を運び謎めいた話を披露する。桜に捧げる「狂言誘拐」の話しや、奥の深い「自転車泥棒」の話し。幼馴染がマンションの一室から全てを消して見せた「できないはずの事」の話し。ちょっとした謎がたくさん散りばめられているミステリー好きにはうれしい作品。誰も死んだり、大事件が起きたりという事はない話だが、繰り返し読みたいと思わせてくれる本だ。
