最初に断わっておくと、畠中氏の今までの作品「しゃばけ」「ぬしさまへ」
の印象を引きずったままこの作品を読んではいけません。
あの可愛らしさ、ほのぼのさ、読み終わって表紙を撫でたくなるような愛
おしさは今回ないので・・・。

テーマとしてはかなり重いものを扱っているし、その事（←ネタバレになる

ので書きませんが）に関しては人間として許されるものなのか、またこの本
のように実際にどこかでこのような事が行われてるのではないか？とふと疑
惑を感じることもありますね。

畠中氏、脱妖怪もの（変に言い方ですね（笑））としては成功してます。
かなり現実的なミステリ。

ただ評価が普通になってしまった問題は前半と後半の差なんですよね。

二人三脚の相手が変わってしまった部分がどうも馴染めなかったので。
多分相手を大人にしないとここまで話題が広がらなかったし、解決しなかっ
たのでしょうかがそれでも私の中では何だかなぁいう感じでした。

多分ミステリーとして完璧というかんじではないのだと思うのですが、物語として、そして人物描写がやはりとても魅力的です！特に少年を描くのがとても上手な方だなぁと思います。大人を描く時も。現代のお話でテーマもシリアスですが。「しゃばけ」などと同じように畠中ワールドに浸らせてくれるのは同様だと感じました。わがままを言わせてもらえばこの物語の登場人物たちとまた他の作品で出会いたいです。

とても読みやすかったと思う。結構厚い本だったけど一気に読むことが出来たし・・・。ただ、現実離れしすぎてるから、どっちかというと大人の人が読むよりは小・中学生が読んだ方が面白いって思うかもしれない。少し前になるがある問題について解りやすく書いてあるから、その問題について、小・中学生は考える機会を与えてくれると思う。
