世界を歩き続けてきた藤原新也が描いた、日本の名もなき街の名もなき人間や風景の描写。

情報化社会のなかで、均一化、効率優先の時の刻みとともに、失われつつある風景や文化、そして人と人の出会いを彼独特の視点で描いている。 怒り、悲しみ、喜びなどの感情を超えた、彼独自の描写に感嘆。

日々の生活、人生の大事を考えさせられました。

　藤原氏の作品を手にとったのは初めてだ。書店で目にして、つい、という感じ。
　長年のファンの方には見るに耐えない作品のようだが、初めてだと、割といける。私自身は本を読んで泣くタイプではないので、少々感傷的過ぎるかなーとも思うが、この程度の「昔はよかった」は許されるのでは？もっと悪質な、危険すら感じる「昔に帰ろう」が巷には満ちあふれている。
　今までの作品を知らず、表紙を見て気になった方は、買っても損はないと思う。

藤原氏の本は写真がいい。日常を切り取った写真につけられる文もまたいい。それに惹かれてまた手に取ってしまうのだ。
