ケルト系の物語を読んでいると、よく植物が登場します。
日本人には馴染みの薄い植物たちが美しい風景写真(&花や実のアップ)で紹介されています(なんと全編フルカラー!)。
写真だけではなく解説文も、ただの植物図鑑などとは違い、その土地の雰囲気や伝説、人々の中での在り方、薬効などの読んでいてなるほどーと思えるものになっています。

木の意味する色や宝石、守護神などなどの一口メモのようなものも、ファンタジー好きの人にはたまらないと思います。
なによりも本自体のコンセプトがドルイド(ケルトの魔法使い)の秘密文字を暦に当てはめ、それに相応する木の紹介と言う物ですから、日本人の私にとってはそれでもうファンタジー解説書みたいなもんです。

ケルト系ファンタジーが好きな人は??非目を通してみて欲しいです。
