自分の物の見方が偏り始めた、と感じたときに読みたい本です。凝り固まった脳みそに風を通してくれるような本です。多彩なジャンルの批評が掲載されており、付属の編者の言葉も心に沁みます。つい分野が偏ってしまう読書を見直すときにも良いかもしれません。

読書好きほど読むジャンル、好む文体が偏ってくるようである。自分が気づかなくとも、この学生のために編まれた『高校生のための』三部作に目を通していると思い知らされる。「こんなに多様なテーマ、文体があったのか」と自分が井戸の中の蛙ではなかったかと思えてくる。本書はもともと学生のためのものであるが、多忙で自分の好む、あるいは必要な本しか読めない社会人にとっても、短文読み切りで手軽に紐解くことができ、日本語が本来持っている豊かな表現力、多様な文体の可能性を体感させてくれる役立つアンソロジーである。『批評入門』では中村真一郎、竹内好、ボーヴォワールら本来の批評家の文章から、黒澤明、水木しげる、中上健次、ギッシング、ケストナー、手塚治虫とジュディオングの鉄腕アトムに関する対話、そして『独裁者』の映画で出てくるチャップリンの有名な大演説まで、編者のユニークな視点から多種多様な文章が５１編収められている。

　批評とは、大多数の心のあり方ではなく少数派側のみ成立するということが分かりました。
　「常識」や「大勢」と呼ばれるもの、いつの間にか世間に認められていること、これら全て多数者側のものの見方です。
その中に属する限り、孤独を感じず日々を過ごせますが、ありのまま事を見るという意識が薄れていきます。
自分の感覚に執着するとき、集団から、孤独の道へ一歩踏み出すわけです。
　ありのまま事を見るという姿勢は孤独です。ですがその孤独が言葉にされることによって人と人を結び付けます。

　ただし、言葉が人に届くには時間がかかります。私のつたない文章があなたの心に届く日も同様です。
