毎日の暮らしにリネンを取り入れるアイディアがたくさん。
いろいろな切り口でリネンという素材にアプローチしていて、
これ一冊あれば選び方から取り扱いまで、ひととおり大丈夫。
なんとなく高級なイメージがあったリネンですが、普段の生活で使ってこそ、
その良さが発揮される実用的な素材だとわかりました。
巻末にはちょっとした手作り指南も載っていて、お得な感じ。
読んだ後、実際にお店にも行ってみたくなりました。

使い方、お洗濯の仕方などは他の本でもよく見るのですが、この本には選び方が書いてありとても役に立ちました。
生地を糸の太さと織りの目の細かさなど7つに分類して厚さや質感にあった用途を写真も使いながら紹介しています。

「質感にが気に入って買ったものの何に仕立てよう？」とか
「お洋服を作りたいかどの布がいいか？」とか困ったときに役立ちました。
ただ、リネンバードで取り扱っている生地の名前で分類しているのでリネンバードを利用されたことのない方にはイメージがわかないのではと思い星を一つ減らしました。
リネンバードでお買い物をなさったことがある方(私もですが)にとっては聞きたかったことがいっぱい載っているので星5つだと思います

キッチンリネンからリネンにはまった初心者なので、まだ手作りするレベルにありません。リネンを扱うお店も近くにありません。知りたいという欲求のほうが先に立ち、色々比較したうえでこの本を手に取りました。
難しくない本なので、私にはピタリでした。既にリネンの手作りを趣味にしている人や、ある程度モノをもっている人には、物足りないかもしれません。生地の厚さ、織りの目の細かさからどんな手作りに向いているか解説するページもあり、ほんとの初心者向きだと思います。
