著者略歴 (「BOOK著者紹介情報」より)

つげ 義春
1937(昭和12)年、東京葛飾生まれ。小学校卒業とともにメッキ工場に勤める。その後職を変わりながら、職業としてマンガ家をめざし、1955(昭和30)年に単行本『白面夜叉』で本格デビュー。貸本マンガや子供向け雑誌で活躍。1965(昭和40)年から「月刊漫画ガロ」に作品を発表し、じょじょに注目を集めるようになる(本データはこの書籍が刊行された当時に掲載されていたものです)

　「ねじ式」は言わずと知れた代表作中の代表作。突拍子もないが不思議な焦燥感に彩られたこの作品は、とにかく読まないと分からないし、読んでも何を語れば良いか分からない。そんな不思議な作品です。
　「夢」を扱った作品を多く収録。つげファンにはおなじみの温泉を舞台にしたものもあります。あるいは思春期の妄想と記憶をテーマにしたちょっと気持ち悪い作品もあり。
　だがしかし、本当にすばらしいと思えるのは、作者の日常が投影されていると思われる若夫婦もの。「夏の思いで」「懐かしいひと」「事件」「退屈な部屋」「日の戯れ」。どれもこれも、日常生活の至福が詰まっています。エロもグロも抑制されたこれらの作品を読むと、心の底から「もういいんだなにもかも・・・」と思えるとともに、こういう何でもない日々の暮らしがどれほど大切かということに思いが至ります。

噂の「ねじ式」を初めて、この文庫で読みました。
不思議な漫画。
頭がおかしくなったかと思うような不思議な世界に引き込まれます。
「ねじ式」だけでなく、その他の漫画も、現実と夢が継ぎ目なく
あわさっている感じで、一冊読むと、頭がぼうっとします。
なるほど。「ねじ式」。
これだけの漫画が文庫で読めたのは、非常にお得でした。

つげ義春さんはこれが初めてですが、作品には既視感を覚えますねぇ。安部公房の「笑う月」と同じように「そうそう、こんな夢みるみる」と素直に感動してしまいました。羊水のようにちょっと生臭い、怖い夢。もっともっと読みたいですが、寡作とのこと。他の作品も是非読んでみたいです。
