元公安調査官でジャーナリストの野田敬生氏による、公安調査庁分析の総決算的な本です。
しかし冒頭で「原著『CIAスパイ研修』の刊行は〜」と書いてあったのにビックリ。
すぐに最後のページを確認すると、やはり氏の著書『CIAスパイ研修』を大幅改稿したものであった。

ざっと読んだ限り、第一章の元公安調査庁長官の総聯疑惑事件の分析は完全に新しいものだったが、
それ以降は、CIAスパイ研修＋αの内容だった。改稿のおかげ（？）か読みやすくなっており、
原書ではいきなり研修体験記が坦々と進み面食らったが、本書は総連事件〜公安調査庁の実態〜
海外機関との関係〜CIA研修〜分析方法という助走・飛行・着陸と非常に上手い構成なので、読みながら
内容を整理しやすく、失礼な言い方になるが、野田氏のこれまでの著書の中で一番読みやすかったと思う。

内容は非常に良かった。オリジナルである1章の【「総聯疑惑」の闇を読み解く】は、メディアで報じられ
なかった裏の裏を著者が丁寧に分析しており、読みながらゾクゾクした。以降の改稿部分でも、読み
進めていくうちに「あぁ、8年も前に指摘されていたことが全く変わっていなかったから総聯疑惑事件が
起こったんだ」と、失望、怒り、恐怖が湧き起こる。

本当は☆5に近い4なのですが、帯もしくは裏表紙に『CIAスパイ研修』を改稿したものであるという
前置きが無かったので、☆3つという評価です。

文庫で初めて読む人ならともかく、あの高い原書を買った人は面白くないでしょう（笑）

著者は、「元」公安調査官。上司の女性キャリアに交際を申し込み断られたことに腹を立て、腕をつかむなどの暴力事件を起こした。このことが女性キャリアから幹部へと報告される一方、野田は約2週間無断欠勤し、12月31日付で依願退職した。女性キャリア自宅あてに脅迫状を送付したり、6,000回以上の無言電話をするなどのストーカー行為を行い、懲役1年6月、執行猶予4年の有罪判決が下っている。

この経歴からもわかるとおり、内容は、一方的な、恨みつらみ（逆恨み）だ。著者の他の著書にも共通しているが、提示された情報に、何の裏付けもないのが特徴だ。

本書は旧著「CIAスパイ研修」の焼き直し。出版社もいつまでこの著者に書かせ続けるのか。良識を疑う。
