　以前は、新潮社から新潮ＯＨ文庫として出されていた物を改めて版元を変えて出版したものです。初期の中島さんの作品ですが、今までと同じように人生を如何にして「半分降りるか」を実践することが書かれています。今の世の中、人生を半分降りることは難しいことですが、この本を読んで考えてみるのも良いかもしれません。

自分の可能性を引き出すことで光り輝く未来を提示する自己啓発本とは違って、人生
を半分降りる「半隠遁」をすすめています。
半隠遁はあえて実践することではないですし、本書は実は無意識にほとんど半隠遁を
実践している人が楽しむ本ではないかと思いました。
僕も無意識のうちはそういう生き方しかできないという自己嫌悪（と自己愛に埋め尽く
された）の毎日でしたが、本書を読んで幾分か積極的な見方が出来るようになりました。

ただ僕は（変な表現ですが）そういう資質は持っていると自覚していますが、著者のよ
うな哲学に満ち満ちた本物の（？）半隠遁は出来ないと思います（他の著書で書かれて
いる著者の壮絶な半生と決意を知っていれば余計に思う）。が、ほとんどの読者がそう
ではないでしょうか。

文中「日本人の0,1％以下の人々に向けて書いている」とありますが、20〜30％あるい
はもっと多くの人が僕のような立場で楽しめるんじゃないかと思います。
これから中島義道を読んでみようという人におススメです。
