元祖「間取りの手帖」は愛読書でした。
一般的な間取り（賃貸、分譲問わず）を見ていると、
「収納少ないな〜」とか「動線がイマイチだな〜」と
感じることがありますが、
そんな些細（？）な問題を笑い飛ばすような、
珍間取り、名間取り、謎間取り満載。
実際のこの間取りの部屋を見てみたい！
何故こんな部屋が！？
一体どんな人が住むの？
とむくむく想像が広がる上、その間取りの下に
絶妙なツッコミがついているから、
下手なエンタメよりも笑える本。

その名著が、増補もされて文庫化という今回、
いそいそと手にとってみましたが・・・
初回のインパクトが大きすぎたせいか、
ツッコミにも初回ほどの切れ味や勢いがなく、
構成も脈絡がなくイマイチに感じます。
シンガーが自身の歌を数年後にセルフカバー
したときの違和感というか・・・

とはいえ、珍妙さ、面白さは相変わらずです。
多少住み辛い間取りの部屋に住んでいても
「これに比べれば（笑）」と思えてしまう、
謎物件ばかり。

出来たら、実際の間取りの物件写真と
見開きで比較掲載してくれたらいいのに、と
思います。

『間取りの手帖remix』とは『間取りの手帖』（こちらは新書）の増補版です。
まず文庫よりは新書をお勧めします。私は新書のカバーを開いた時「お〜」と感心しました。

マドリストを自称する著者が面白い間取り不可解な間取りを一頁に一つ紹介、一言コメントを付けています。
間取り図を見るだけならなんだか、一瞬で読書が終わってしまいそうですが、
私はこれを読んで間取りとは「読む」ものだと初めて感じました。

マドリストでも何でもない私は提示された間取りを見て始めは「？」です。
しかしちょっと遠回しなコメントを読むと、私はその間取りの中へ入っていき、
意味をジワジワと理解します。
そうして間取りを読みながら私の中には一個二個とツッコミが増えていくのです。

特に見開きでコメントが対応している時などはニヤリ度が高かったです。

惜しむらくは、増補されたコラムがイマイチだった事です。残念。
しかしポケットに入るサイズは嬉しいですし、実直そうなふりをしている表紙も良いと思います。

本当に引っ越さなくてはならなくて、間取りを見る時、実はあまり楽しくない。
いつになく現実的にシビアにあれこれ考慮し条件に優先順を付け、いろいろ切り捨てなければならないからだ。
引っ越す必要がない時に間取りを見ると、想像力を刺激され結構楽しい。
ただし日常的に間取りをチェックするほどの「マドリスト」ではない。
そんな私だが、この本はなかなか楽しい娯楽であった。

かなり不可思議な間取りが１ページに１件、ベリーショートなつっこみ付きで掲載。
１０８の間取りのうち、普通の間取りはひとつもありません（だから引っ越しの役にはたちません）。
実に実用的でない間取りを見ていると、
「ここはこんなふうに不便だから、住人達にこんな摩擦が起きて・・・」
となんだかホームドラマが展開してくる・・・楽しい。
間取りはドラマチックだ。

間取りに寄せて、プロが書いた小説のアンソロジーとかあるといいな。
どこか作ってくれませんか？
