宮台 真司
1959年生まれ。首都大学東京都市教養学部准教授。東京大学大学院博士課程修了。社会学博士。援助交際、オウム真理教、少年事件などさまざまな事件を考察して提言する稀代の社会学者(本データはこの書籍が刊行された当時に掲載されていたものです)

現代の教育にはさまざまな問題があるが、結局は実生活や実人生に活かせないことが問題になっている。
記憶力をメインにした高度経済成長時代の人材育成の仕組みが時代遅れになったにもかかわらず、それ以降の想像力や創造力を培うシステムになっていない。
そこで、藤原先生のような人がメインになっているのだろう。とにかく、このやり方であと30年続けないと、日本は本当にダメになってしまう。

98年と99年に出た２冊を合わせて文庫化されたものだそうですが、とても上手く構成されていて読みやすく、読後の満足感があります。分かりやすいことばで、世の中の「基礎的な難題」に論理的に正対する著者の姿勢に好感がもてます。

個人的に作者の藤原さんは尊敬する人なのですが、
その点差し引いても、すばらしい内容だと思う。

僕がこの本を中学生の時に読んでいたら。

なんていう後悔さえも覚えるほどに。


世の中、「あたりまえだから」で済まされることは多くて、
僕は子供のころ、たくさんのことを納得できずに過ごした。

今では自分なりの答えを発見できているのだけれど、
この本があったのなら、上手に今の答えにたどり着く道しるべになったと思う。

子供に本気で読ませたい本の一冊だ。


「なんで人を殺してはいけないの？」


この答えを持っていますか。子供に答えられますか？
そのヒントはこの本にあります。
ただし答えではない。そういうこともこの本は教えてくれる。
