可愛い女の子、美人な女の子、ちょっと？な子まで、色々な少女を見ることが出来ます。
私用のものから、ちょっとあざとい写真もあり、昔の少女達やその時代の雰囲気を感じることが出来ると思います。
文庫でこの値段？と最初は驚きましたが、カラーの写真があったり、とにかく写真がたくさんあるので納得しました。

　著者が収集したレトロな、少女のポストカードや写真の写真集です。文庫サイズ。男性のコレクションのせいか、「かわいい」だけじゃなくて、そこはかなくエロティックで、ちょっと怖い気がします。定番ルイス・キャロルのとったものや、フリークの写真なども載っています。少女好きな方におすすめ。

若桑みどり『イメージを読む』と並べて売られていたので、てっきり少女写真の文化論や社会的背景、つまり美術史の本かと思って買ってしまいました。
内容はと言うと、作者が脈略もなく買い集めた写真を前に、特に根拠があるわけでもない感想のようなものを書き綴っているだけです。「〜のように感じる」だの「〜に見える」だのと、別に文化背景を解説するわけでもなく、単なる著者の印象を並べられても困ってしまいます。
技術論に一章を割いているにもかかわらず、被写体の少女達が揃って不機嫌な顔をしている理由を理解していないようだったり（初期の写真は撮影に長時間を要したので、笑顔を維持するのは困難）と、かなり疑問を憶える内容です。
しかも、掲載されている写真は著者が無秩序に買い集めたものであり、出展・年代すら不明の物が大部分。はっきり言って、古写真をネタにしたエッセイ程度の代物です。

別に、エッセイや妄想、感想文は構わないのですが、そんなものに学術文庫の看板をかけて、1300円（＋税）で販売するのはやめて頂きたい。
これほど買って後悔した本は、久しぶりでした。
