　アニメの批評や特撮の批評というのは一種の閉鎖社会です。こうした閉鎖社会に、アニメや特撮にとくに詳しいわけでもない斎藤美奈子さんが果敢にいどんだことをまず評価すべきでしょう。
　斎藤美奈子さんの批評は、あくまで理知的で議論の筋道もしっかりしていて、とても読みやすいです。あまりにもすっきり話が進むので、読む人によっては大事なことが論じられていないという異論もでるのも仕方のないことかもしれません。たしかに、宮崎アニメを論じたところではやや強引な部分もありましたが。
　重要なのはアニメや特撮から伝記まで、子供の接する主要なメディアが、かくもステレオタイプに乗っかかった女性の描き方しかしてこなかった、という点です。こうした論旨そのものはすでに他にもあったかもしれませんが、この本の優れている点はそうした問題を楽しめる読み物として提示したことにあるでしょう。お堅いフェミニズムの研究論文は読む気がしなくても、斎藤美奈子さんの本でしたら誰もが気軽に読めるようになっています。

なるほど。うんうんとうなずきながらページをめくること暫し。
自分が見慣れたアニメの世界にこんな見方があったなんて、驚きでした。女の子の世界のアニメと男の子の世界のアニメは別の時限にあるというのに、女の子の描かれたに大差なかったとは。別にフェミニズムをぶった本じゃないからこそ素直に驚けました。そしてそんなアニメの世界、伝記の世界にこれっぽっちの疑念も抱かなかった自分に、毒されてたんだなぁと反省しきり。
確かにレンジャーもののピンクって女からしても共感しにくいタイプでした。
文学的商品論ではフェミニズムに走りすぎだとたたかれていた斎藤さんですが、ほかの作品もぜひ読まねばと思いました。

「妊娠小説」も面白かったが、こちらもとても面白く読めた。
ＴＶアニメを見て育った世代としては、なるほどと頷ける指摘
も多い。特に「ヤマト」「ガンダム」「エヴァンゲリオン」の３大
アニメについての分析が楽しめた。しっかり見てますね。
児童を対象にした伝記ものについても、目からウロコでした。

これまでの日本の男性中心の視点では世の中無理がきているのかも。
これを読んでそう感じます。特に男性に読んで欲しい。
