牟礼魔利こと森茉莉の鬼才あふれる食べ物エッセイです。永遠のお嬢さま、永遠の洒落者である著者独特のセンスが随所にちりばめられています。古典的な（？）漢字の使い方も、素敵。思わず、ビスケットを片手にお茶をしながら読んでしまうことでしょう・・・

このエッセイ集は、機嫌のわるい・よいときにかかわらず、いつでも開いて差しさわりのない、稀な、私にとって貴重な存在。いつでもバッグのなかにある。
この文庫本は森茉莉の作品から、食に関する短編をいくらか取り出してまとめたもの。
自分にとってのたのしいもの、美しいものに自然に反応する清潔な六感を持っていて、描き出し方に独特の偏狭さがありながら、憎めない。
森茉莉の芯のあたらしさ、真摯な感覚にひきこまれる。

おいしそうな食べ物の記述が満載・・・　茉莉さんの世界にうっとりひたりながら、影響を受けやすい私はリプトンやマリービスケットを買って帰ったり、馬鈴薯のスープをこしらえたりです。他にも作ってみたい料理がたくさん。最近料理離れしていた私にいい刺激を与えてくれました。ファンはもちろん毎日の献立に悩まされる主婦の方にもお勧めです。
