いままでの「小説の書き方入門書」に書かれていなかったことがきっちり書かれている。いままで小説を書いたことがなくて小説家を目指してみようかと思っている人、小説家になろうと思っていたけど迷いが出ている人、なんかにオススメ。
　これを読むと、人によって、「小説って簡単に書けるんだ」と思う人と、「小説を書くのってたいへんなんだ」と思う人がいると思うけれど、どちらも真実。
　ライバル増やしたくないけど、みんなが無駄な遠回りをするのも人類の損失だから、みんなこれを読んで小説を書きましょう。

　当然と言えば当然なのだが、これまでは小説作法本と言えば、「じのほん」だった。
　本書はその概念を覆した意欲作である。
　一部の人は「邪道」というかもしれないが、「すべての人に小説家への道を！」という作者の気持ちが伝わってくるような良作である。
　なんだかんだ言って、マンガは楽しく読めるしね。

小説の書き方の部分はもちろん分かりやすく楽しく読めます。さすが、すがやさんですね。
特筆すべきは第10章の「小説家受難の時代を生き延びるには？」です。絶版になった本が故紙業者に引き取られ断裁されて溶かされる過程が、写真入りで紹介されていて、本好きな人にはショックな、出版界の現実まできちんと描かれています。
巻末の新人賞リストは充実してます。フランス書院の官能大賞まで載っていました。応募してみようかな！
