「家賃の金額で家が買えます」っていう広告で心が揺れる人も多いと思う
でも、今何故家を買うのかを突き詰めて考える人はどれほどいるのか。
この本を読むと見ようとして見てなかった問題点、注意点が浮かびあがります。
住宅が資産価値であった時代には３つの神話が存在していた
「土地神話」「昇給神話」「インフレ神話」
この神話が崩壊してきてる昨今それでも住宅ローンを組む人が多いのは何故か？
住宅ローンを組んで家庭を築いてきた親を見て育ってきた世代の30代〜40代が
その親の生き方をなぞるように購入してるからではないだろうか
つまり持家幻想を無意識に刷りこまれた世代
これからの日本社会で住宅ローンを組んでまで家を買うべきか？
「収入減のリスク」「長生きのリスク」「死亡のリスク」を踏まえて、
3000万円の35年ローン金利２％は家族にとって快適な家なのか？
住宅金融公庫のフラット35であっても、家には維持費が発生し、
固定資産税が増税されないとは言えないこれからの日本経済。
世帯数が減少する2015年からでも遅くはないのでは？
住宅ローン控除は、国の景気対策であり、個人は負債を背負って踊らされている
家を買うな！ではなく、今家が必要か？と今一度頭を冷やさせる。
ただ、第１章に掲載されている５家族のケースは、この本には過剰な装飾品に感じる。

マンション購入を検討していた所、今回の構造計算偽造の問題が出て、悩んでいた時に見つけた本でした。正直、このタイミングを見計らった企画本かなぁ〜と思ったのですが、内容はとても真面目でした。
ここ数年は購入するのは手控えたほうがいいかなぁ〜と考え直すきっかけを作ってくれた本でしたし、もちろん、将来的に購入をするかもしれませんが、私も主人も住宅購入について根本的な発想を考え直すきっかけになった本でした。
考えてみれば、トータル的な損得で住宅購入と賃貸を比較している本は多いですが、購入した場合、今回のような住宅ローン返済中に起きた事件に対して購入した場合は対応できない、しづらいのは最も怖いことだと思いました。

本書のテーマである「家を買うべきか，借り続けるべきか」という選択問題には多くの人が関心をもっている。しかし，本書のように，持家か賃貸か，という選択問題のみを扱って，それだけで一冊全部が埋め尽くされている本というのは，今まで見たことがない。何よりもその着眼点が優れている。肝心の内容もバラエティ豊かで，全体に楽しく軽快に読むことができる。とくに，島田晴雄・慶応大学教授や，さくら事務所代表の長島修といった，そうそうたる顔ぶれによる数々のコメントは，おどろくほどストレートで，有益な示唆に富んでいる。９人のファイナンシャル・プランナーによる“持家 vs. 賃貸”のライフプラン・シミュレーションも圧巻といってよい。
