ロンドンに的を絞りつつ、ロンドンから行くことのできる近郊都市（オクスフォード、ウィンザー、カンタベリー等）を含めたガイドブック。
大きく詳しいロンドン中心部の地図、バスマップ、地下鉄路線図はもちろんのこと、バス・地下鉄・電車・タクシーの乗り方も詳説。
ガイド部分は、観光スポット、ミュージアム、レストラン、ショップ、シアター、ホテル等項目別に並び、
美術館からクラブ、書店、靴屋に至るまで幅広く紹介されている。掲載されているスポットの数が多いので、
そう有名でなく見落としてしまいそうな所も観光できる。文章でしっかり解説してあるので、観光先の予習にもなる。
ショップについても、デパートや土産物向きの食品のみならず、本、帽子、靴、ドラッグストアなど色々載っており、
旅行者のみならず長期滞在者にも重宝。音楽にしても、オペラやクラシックはもちろんのこと、ナイトクラブも掲載されている。
ロンドン旅行あるいは滞在に、一冊あると非常に便利なガイドブック。多少気になる点としては、記述がやや主観的に過ぎることで、
ロンドンに対して何となく持っている固定観念を助長してしまうことがある。
