日が浅いので内容より使い易さ中心の暫定評価である．DDWINの串刺し検索で，小学館ランダム，英辞郎，リーダーズと共に使っている．１．語彙ではこれらに負けることが多い．２．runやgoなどの語義が多い単語を含む熟語を探したいとき，いちいち目で追う時間はない．全文検索をかけると，英辞郎，ランダム，リーダの順で発見率が高く，ジーニではほとんど出てこない．しかし暇な時によく見ると書いてあったりする．語義説明文中で，当該単語が「~」で表示していることが一つの原因である．再掲してほしい．３．行数節約のためか改行が少なく，語義番号，例文の一覧性が悪い．特徴である語義解説も見つけづらい．４．説明文中でのマーカが少ない，そのためかランダムのように和英辞典として検索できる力が劣る!．

ていねいに読む学習辞典ではなく大辞典なので検索力に配慮してほしい．

私は「本ジーニアス大辞典」を「リーダースプラス」「英辞郎」と
一緒に、DDWINで使ってますがこのどれも必需品であり、使い易い
です。特に、ジーニアス英和を使ってきた私としては、記述が
ジーニアス英和とほとんど同じ本書は、慣れしたしみがあって
一番気に入ってます。

リーダースでは「足りない文法」や「より平易な訳語」を、

ジーニアス大辞典で補完するのがお勧めです。

語法の説明が詳しいのが気に入っており、これまで電子辞書で使っていたのですが、液晶が小さく見難いのでCD-ROM版を購入しました。主に使い勝手についての評価ですが…
1.電子辞書では例文と語法の解説はリンクになっており、語義だけをさ っと見るのに便利だったのですが、CD-ROM版では一度に表示されてしまうので、語義を探すのが面倒。
2.しかも改行が殆ど入っていないので、語義説明と例文の区切りが分か り難い(一応区切り記号は入っているが目立たない)。
3.オムリンさんも書かれているように全文検索で欲しいものが出てこな い。
結局、紙の辞書をPCの画面上で見ているようなもので、最近の電子辞書に収録されているものより使い勝手は数段落ちると思います。電子辞書版では上記の点は改善されているのだから、CD-ROM版も早急に修正して欲しいものです。
