　この間、「最驚！ガッツ伝説」を読んで大いに笑ったばかりだった。ガッツさんは本当の天然だと思った。
　ところが、先日、ドラマとかのコーナーにこの本が並んでいるのを見て、おやっと思って、手に取って読んでみた。なんか様子がちがうぞと思った。俺の読めない漢詩も出ていた。
　そういえば、選挙に落選した時のガッツさんのコメントを聞いた時も、おやっと思ったのを思い出した。「昔だったら、切腹ものか、打ち首ものです」とか言っていた。それでちょっと他の立候補者と違うなと思って、見直した。
　この本を読んで、やっぱりただものではないと思った。テレビの天然ぼけの姿とこの本のガッツさんのギャップが大きすぎて、自分の中では本当のガッツ像が未消化のままだ。俺にとっては、こっちの方が「最驚のガッツ伝説」だぜ！

テレビで独特のキャラでどちらかというとボケキャラだけど何か深みがあるなと思っていました。その訳がこの本を読んでよくわかりました。テレビからだけでは想像もできない別の一面のガッツさんを知ることができました。大納得でした。

ガッツ伝説は、ほんとに面白かった。電車の中で笑いをこらえて読んだものだ。しかし、この本はまったく違う。知らなかった。ガッツさんがこんな人だったとは！テレビではボケキャラやってるけど、その笑顔の裏にこんな辛い人生があったんだね。後半の選挙の話なんかは泣ける。ガッツさんの悲しみがジーンと伝わってきた。
