本書を読み終えれば, 初心者とは違う一段高い視点からRを操れるだろう. ただ, 詳細に解説してある点は素晴らしいが, Rは年2回のメジャーバージョンアップがあり, 最新の情報に読みかえる必要がある部分も見受けられる(書籍では致し方ないのだが).
サポートページ(内容についての捕捉)などを設けられれば(コードなどは公開されている)さらなる良書になるだろう. 内容が良いだけに読者としては非常に我儘になるのが欠点である.

買いの一手です！！！

本書は「ドイツ語で書かれた R の入門書」の日本語版です．翻訳に不自然さは全くありません．

200 頁強と手ごろなボリュームですが，R のエッセンスが凝縮されています．

【これから R を】という方向けに，「まえがき」「第1章：Rとは何か」で R の概要をサラッと，第2章〜第4章で R の基礎をサクッと説明しています．簡にして要を得た解説です．

【プログラムを入力するのが面倒】という方向けか，リゲスさんのホームページにソースコードが公開されています．プログラムを実行しつつ，本書を読み進めると良いかと思います．

【中級者〜上級者】の方向けに「第5章：効果的なプログラミング」「第6章：オブジェクト指向プログラミング」「第9章：拡張（C++, Fortranのソースコードの組み込み，バッチ処理など）」「第10章：パッケージ」が用意されています．いずれも簡にして要を得た解説です．

もちろんっ，R のインストール方法や統計解析，グラフィックスに関する明快な解説も載っております．他にも興味深い記事が散りばめられております．

矢張り，買いの一手です！！！
