　心理療法家の視点から、人生の目的つまり生きる
ということの意味についての一つの提案を本書はして
くれているように思います。また、宗教や人生哲学の
根本で常に問われている"愛情"についての著者の考え
が紹介されています。

　これまで、"愛情"というものを感情や優しい気持ち
のように漠然と捉えていた私にとっては、"愛情"を個
人の"意志"結び付けて考える考え方には、何か頭の中
を衝撃が走ったように感じました。

　少し哲学的であり、確かにすらすら読み進めること
は出来ないかもしれません。しかし、臨床の症例を取
り入れ出来るだけ分かりやすく、書かれています。
"生きる"ということを主体的に考えている人に、一つ
の新しい視点として、本書を心からお奨めします。
（少し大袈裟かもしれませんが、これまでの自分を変
える可能性があります。取り扱いには注意です。）

子育てで精神的にツライ時に、ふと目に留まった新聞の書評を見て読んでみました。カルロス・ゴーンさんおすすめの１冊です。
心理療法とありますが、「愛」をキーワードに、骨太に「人として成長していくこと」について書かれています。また、人と関わっていくことがどんなに大切か。

生きていくことはそもそも困難なことである。と著者はいいます。「どうして私だけが・・・」なんていじけるのは自分が甘えていただけなんだなー改めて悟りました。がんばらなくちゃ！と前向きな気分になれますよ。

生きていると色々なことが起こる。 人と人との関係のなかで生きにくさを感じることがある。 その生きにくさが高じると障害と呼ばれる症状がでる。 つまり症状は生きにくさを強調したものと言える。

「なぜ生きにくいのか」という問題に真剣に取り組むとき、 生きていくのに必要な事柄が見えてくる。 それは負うべき責任から逃げず、自分を律し、真実を受け入れるということ。 その態度は愛に通じ、愛こそが生きにくさを支えると本書は説く。

「人生は困難なものである。」から本書は始まる。 つまり「こうすれば楽になりますよ」という簡単な答えは本書では示されない。 地味で真摯な態度こそが症状を、つまり生きにくさを克服すると力強く語りかける。 小手先の技ではない人生の王道を語る一冊。
