本を読んでいくうちに、まさしく自分に起こったことがここにかかれてあると思いました。自分の人生の選択の結果、今の病気に、見事に到達したのだと言うことがわかりました。私は生きたい。だとすればなすべきことは明白で、自分の生き方を変えていくこと、簡単なことではないけど、まずは点検。そして、頑固な私には難しいと予想されることも、やれそうだったらとにかくやってみる。だめだったら途中で戻ってくる、はじめから肩を固めずに、楽しみながら、今そのことにチャレンジできることを喜びながら。そうしたら少しだけ、余裕がでてきました。NPOからでているCDもよかったですよ。何回も聞いていると悲観主義が訂正されるような気がします。

臨床から導かれたリラクセーションとイメージ療法が具体的に解説されている。まったく初めて取り組む者にとり、わかりやすくかかれている。他書に無い「内なる指導者」の考え方は病気療法のみでなく、生き方すべてに通用する発想である。
