タイトルと表紙のきれいさで思わず買ってしまいました。なんだか持って歩きたくなるような感じだから。でも、読んだら物語も素晴らしく良かったです。主人公リリィの心に寄り添ってすごく悲しくなったけど、最後はリリィの心の移り変わりに感動して熱い涙が出てきました。そして、物語をとりまく空気の描写がすごく美しくて、いつまでも読み終わりたくなかったです。読後も物語の余韻からしばらく抜けられなかった。久々の傑作です！

舞台は６０年代のアメリカ南部。広々とした農園や養蜂農家の情景は自分が育った環境には似ても似つかないのに、いつしかリリィの心にシンクロしていました。１０代の繊細な心が壁を乗り越えていく様子が快く、読後感がとても爽やかでした。養蜂農家の夏の情景が、蜜蜂の羽音や乾いた空気のにおいなどによって、いきいきと描かれており、小説の世界に心地よくひたることが出来ました。この夏、オススメの１冊です。

この本に出会ったのは、主人公リリィと同じように「愛されたことのしるし」を求めていた時でした。リリィがその「しるし」をわかるように祈るくだりはリリィの祈りが自分の祈りでもあるように思え、リリィと一緒に旅しているようでした。
「愛されているしるし」を得る「旅」を終え、行くべき道を見つけることが出来たことにも感動しましたし、この物語の表現がとにかく素晴らしい！　
その描写は今までになく私を惹きつけ、印象に残る一冊になりました。
