新しい事を始めるのにはちょっとした勇気がいります。 勇気というのはちょっと大げさというのならほんの些細な“えいやっ”が必要なのです。 年齢を重ねればそれはなおさらの事で…。 それは自らの意志で飛び込む場合と背中を誰か（何か）に押される場合もあるわけです。 この本の主人公“ミーちゃん”にとってそれはやや疎遠になっている 実の息子（糸井重里氏）に突然ＩＭＡＣを送り付けられる事から始まります。 一方、いきなりパソコンを送り付けるというやや乱暴な親孝行に （殆ど思い付きで！）踏みきった糸井氏はやや疎遠である母の自由な暮し振りを インターネット上の連載を重ねる毎に新鮮な驚きをもって知る事になるのです。

この本の主人公“ミーちゃん”は別にパソコンの天才になったわけではありません。 そういう事ではないのです。

この本は私に問いかけてくれたような気がします。 みーちゃんが豆炭で私達がパソコンなのでなく、 みーちゃんが豆炭とパソコンであるのと同じように 私達も豆炭とパソコンなのはどうかなっ、て。 みーちゃん、そしてこの本に関わった全ての皆さん、 しあわせな本をありがとう。

糸井重里さんの、本当のお母さんミーちゃんが80歳を超えてパソコンに挑戦したお話。ミーちゃんは今でも日記をほぼ日に書いています。
感性の豊かな人です。私もこういうおばあちゃんになりたい。
南波先生というかたもとてもいい先生で、おばあちゃんたちにはこういう先生になれたらなあと思うのでした。

ミーちゃんとその周りの皆さんの暮らしを読むにつれて「豊かさ」って何だろうって考えさせられました。

「ほぼ日」の大ファンですので、その連載の単行本化ということですぐ読みました。 パソコンやインターネットの本のようで、「教育」を考える本のようで、「生き方」の本なのかな。

とにかく、イトイの母Aすなわち「みーちゃん」さんのすてきな魅力と、それを遠巻きに見守りながら人気者にしてしまう「息子イトイ」の不思議な関係が、本書の最大の魅力なのではないでしょうか。

それにしても言いたいのは、私も母にパソコンを教えましたけど、Winだって、使う人はちゃんと愛着をもってかわいがってますよ(^-^;)!
