家庭菜園初心者で、初めて買った本です。
野菜が104種類も紹介されていて、その栽培法もしっかり載っています。
トマト・ナス・キュウリといった定番物はより詳しく紹介されています。

ケルンやヤーコンなんて、家庭菜園で本当に作るのだろうか？
と疑問に思いますが、そのあたりも見ているだけで楽しめます。
「この野菜はこういう名前だったのか」といった新鮮な驚きもあります。

巻末にある野菜用語事典（事典というほどでもないですが）も、
初心者にわかりやすく、要点がわかるように書いています。

マルチングの仕方や、堆肥の作り方もしっかりと載っているので
家庭菜園をこれからやってみたいな、と思っている方にはお奨めです。
写真も多く掲載されていて、具体的な作業もわかりやすいです。
入門書としては丁度適しているのではないでしょうか。

家の周りの小さな畑には虫さんがいっぱい。
農薬をなるべく使わずに野菜作りをと思い、購入しました。
畑は殆ど放任主義（？）だったので、読むたびに知らないことだらけです。
これ一冊で極めることは難しいかもしれませんが、
入門書としては、なかなかいいのでは？と思います。
もぎたての野菜は最高においしいです。
うちの子は、スーパーのトウモロコシは「苦い」というのですが
家でできたものは、「すごくおいしくてまほうみたい」と言います。
おかあちゃんはちょっぴり「魔女の気分」（笑）です。

野菜作り１年生の私の必須バイブルになりそうです。この時期に植えられる野菜を確認したり、作業内容を詳しく見ています。言葉の意味もわからないのですが、やり方が図と写真で載っているのでとてもわかりやすいです。挑戦してみたいものがたくさんあって今からわくわくしています。まずは、基本をしっかりと勉強してから、地域による違いなどは周りのベテランおじいちゃん、おばあちゃんに聞いています。
