大変わかりやすく書かれた、そして学術的にも価値の高い著作です。家族間のトラウマを日本に紹介して「さきがけ」となりました。

題名にあるように「私は親のようにならない」と決意していても「なぜか」親と同じような生活行動、心理的パターンを繰り返す、または、傷つかなかったフリをして生きていても幸せが感じられないなど、その原因と真の回復への道筋が示されています。

著者は、抵抗するすべを持たなかった＜かっての幼い者たち＞へはっきりと「問題はあなたではなく親にある」と語りかけます。

ただし、最後まで読むには自分自身の痛みと向き合うことになるかもしれません。今現在も親に隷属していることに気がついたり、やり場がなく転化された怒り、忘れていたダメージが蘇ったり、その痛みの再現を味わうことになって・・・。

人は感性を無視して幸せになれないし、まして心に蓋をしたままの人生に意義を見出すのは困難です。

もしかしたら自分もAC（アダルトチルドレン）なのかな？と考える方は是非ご一読くださいませ。必ず得るところがあると信じます。
