「影響力の武器」と同じレベルの名著です。だまされたと思わせずに人をだますためのテクニックが、これでもかというぐらい紹介されています。これを読んだ後にCMを見ると、衝動買いをすることはなくなるのではないでしょうか。

プロパガンダとは、特定の思想や世論を誘導するものとしてネガティブなイメージを持たれることが多い。なぜネガティブなイメージをもたれるのだろうか。それはプロパガンダが、我々の行動を「知らず知らずのうちに行っている」ように仕向けるからに他ならない。

したがって、プロパガンダが表に出ることはない。「これはプロパガンダだ」と解ってしまうようなものはプロパガンダではない。あくまでも、知らず知らずのうちに我々の心理を縛ってしまう者がプロパガンダの名に値する。
（もっとも、わざとプロパガンダであることを名乗り、「これはプロパガンダだ。注意しよう」と思わせてある特定の行為へと誘引する上級技もあるだろうが）

そのプロパガンダの手法を、これでもかというくらいふんだんに盛り込んだのが本書。しかも個々具体的な事例を引いて小説風の読み物に仕立てているので、読むのに苦を感じることはないだろう。

広告や政治宣伝がどのような方法で人の心を操っているかということが書かれている。
厚い本だが文章は平易で、事例も多くわかりやすい。
日常にうずまく広告などに騙されたくない方にも、自社製品を買ってもらうためのテクニックがほしい方にも良いんじゃないかと思います。
