時代によって様々に変わる流行廃り、色合わせの妙。
今も昔も人々の生活と共にあったお洒落。優雅な色合わせと
裏腹にそれを作り出す庶民の苦労。そして、その中でひっそりと
行われた、ささやかなお洒落。約1ページの色毎に纏められた
どの色を取っても、日本人の感性の素晴らしさ、色に対する
思い入れが溢れ、その時代や風俗を彷彿とさせてくれます。
どの章から読んでも、楽しめる、そして、心に残る1冊になると
思います。

タイトルを見ると、色の歴史を使って日本史を読み解く感じがしますが、単純に「色の歴史」です。
色の名前、その来歴を知ることができて本当にたのしかったです。後、赤がどちらかというと三原色のマゼンタのようなの色だとしり、本当の色も解りました良かったです。

色の名前の豊富さは文化を表すという話はよく聞きます。
法政大学出版会から出ている「色」といいう本も参考になりました。
本書は、持ち歩きができるので、旅行の際に、なにげなく読んでいるのに楽しいです。
車窓から眺めるいろいろなものの色を、あれは何色と呼ぶとよいかなどと考えながら読むのも一塩。

「色の名前で読み解く日本の文化」という方が、ぴったりうくるかもしれません。
文化の定着には、長い年月が必要だということも分かります。
