『やっぱり、ニューヨーク暮らし。』『おさかなマンハッタンをゆく』に続き、ニューヨーク物第三弾です。

読んだあとに、自分の生活を改善しよう！となにやらやる気が起きました。ただのハウツー物の本ではなく、著者が限られた財政の中からいかに生活を楽しむか、非常によく考え抜かれており、ただたんに、方法を書きつられているのではなく、体験を通して書かれているだけあって力強いです。そして、写真もとてもおしゃれで、写真だけ見ていても楽しめます。

生活の潤いを与えるヒントがちりばめられた本でした。
お勧めです。

この本を読むと、著者のニューヨークでの生活がただただ羨ましくなります。
写真がふんだんに入っていて、その中に渡辺葉さんの家が出て来るのですが、
ニューヨークのチェルシー地区にあんなに広くて綺麗な部屋を借りられるって
どういうこと？と思ってしまいます。
すごく恵まれてる人なんだろうな、という感想しか残らず、一回読んだら、多
分もう開かないかな、と思いました。
文章は読みやすいのですが、お父さまでいらっしゃる椎名誠氏の文体にかなり
似ていて、似せているのか、それとも血筋なのか、といったところ。
好きなことをやって、あんなに綺麗なところに住めたら、そりゃあ気持ちいい
生活も見つかるだろう、とやっかみばかりを感じてしまったので、あえて辛口
な批評にしました。
ニューヨークが好き！いつかニューヨークに住みたい！と頑張っている方には
お勧めできない本です。
きっと「きぃぃーー！！」と思ってしまうと思うので。

　再度訪れたいニューヨーク。できれば生活の場としたい
ニューヨーク。かなり、グレードの高い生活がかいま見える
が、まあそもそもニューヨーク生活自体が夢の部類のものな
ので、それはそれでOKです。

　心地よい１冊です。
