さすがに文章が上手い。行間からにじみ出る著者の感性がみずみずしい。赤裸々に半生が語られているだけに説得力がある。うつ病に苦しむ患者に生きる勇気を与えてくれる希望の書である。最後に収録してある対談の内容もまた味がある。うつ病の人にもそうでない人にも是非読んで欲しい。心が洗われること間違いなし。ああ、久しぶりに感動した。

中島らもの40~50代の人生をそのまま執筆
故に、躁鬱病、アルコール中毒、入院と他の本と重複するテーマに見える
しかし、この本は中嶋らもの現在こういう状態になってしまった
分岐点の時期や原因を把握して書いてある
独りの素の人間、50代の男の素をさらけ出している
ここには、笑いもドラマもない
中島らもの傍に居た人達は、このらもさんを支えてきた

中島らもの他の本とは異色で地味です
でも、戻せない時間をらもさんが懸命に手繰るようなこの本
是非一度読んでもらいたい

「うつになった、仕事がうまくできないんだけど、どうしよう？」

ぼくが告白すると、友人がこの本を薦めてくれた。でも正直あまり参考にならなかった。これまでこの著者の本は読んだことがない。それを割り引いて、この文章を読んでほしい。

元来、仕事大好き、オプティミストのひとがうつにかかったとき読むにはいい本かもしれない。小心者でペシミストのひとが読むと、こんなに元気ならうつじゃないよ、と突っ込みたくなる。

同じ作家が書かれたものなら、原田宗典さんの「ぼくの心をなおしてください」が実際の治療に対する不安を和らげてくれる効果は高いと、ぼくは思った。

ただ、エッセイとして読めば、著者が巻き起こす数々の奇行を軽妙に語る文章にはおもしろさが感じられるのは間違いない。
