トリックは、これまでにあったトリックの組み合わせだと思うけれど、組み合わせ方のスケールが凄いと思う。
《観光地ミステリー文学賞》は、こういう作品を応募すれば射止められるのかな？

まず目を引くのはその殺害方法。なかなか思いつかないでしょ、こんな方法。
そして、新聞記者の西東南が犯人像に迫っていく様は人間の心理を知り尽くしている、といった感じ。
事件の真相も、虚をつかれます。この著者は人間という生き物の本質を良く知ってます。間違いない。

行くところ必ず事件に巻き込まれる“事件女”の記者・西東南（さいとうみなみ）が活躍するシーリズの第二部・第一巻とでも言うべき作品。
このシリーズはトラベルミステリーに位置すると同時に、村嶋なつみという相棒が初登場する重要な話である。

結構な惨殺事件であるのに、その殺害方法やトリックがずいぶんあっさりとかかれているし、犯人自体もあっさりと分かってしまう所が難。
もう少し詳細な状況説明や登場人物の心理などが丁寧に描かれていると、もっと面白くなるはず。
複雑な謎解きと重厚なストーリーが中心である本格推理が好きな人にはちょっと物足りないと思う。
ＴＶドラマの二時間ミステリーといった雰囲気の作品だが、質は悪くないのでちょっとした息抜き程度には調度良いので及第点の星みっつです。
