現在、単行本化された「センチメンタル・サバイバル」を読んで、まあいい感じの作家だな、と思っていたのだけれど、この本を読んで考えを改めた。
すごく、いい作家だった。
文章はすらすらと読めるけど、ちゃんと心に残る面白い内容!
表題作はイマイチだけど、中頃あたりからびっくりするほど素敵な話ばかりになる。
読んだ後に思わず微笑んでしまうような、みんなちょっと不器用でちょっと幸せな短編集。

苦手の理由は、どうしても短編なので内容が薄くなってしまい
終いがあっさり終ってしまい不完全燃焼･･･みたいに感じるのですが
この本は面白かった。短編ながら、ちゃんと文章が完成していて
尚且つ、作者は知識だけではなく、経験が豊富なのか
人間としての心理がよく分かってるなぁ〜と感嘆しました。
あまり期待していなかったのですが、久々に面白い本に
出合ったと思いました。

一話目を読んだところで　ありがちな展開だなーと少し落胆したもの
の、最終話の老人介護ものの話ではじんわり泣けてきました。

日常のどうでもいいようなシーンを切り取るのがうまい作家さんが
増えてきてうれしいです。連作短編なので飽きずに読めました。
このタイトルはどうも好きになれませんけど。
「きらら」の小普連（小説普及連盟だったかな）みたいに、電車で
カバーをせずに読んで、こんな小説があるよとお気に入りをPRしよう
にも、ちょっと躊躇してしまいます・・・。

この作家さん、わりと説教くさい発言を登場人物に言わせるんですが
今回はそんなに気にならなかったです。次の作品にも期待します。
