著者があとがきでも書いていたが、「新」が付いていないS-Aと、今シリーズは、ある意味において別物であると感じられた。
作品内の前作から数年後という設定も、良い意味での前作からの距離感が自然に感じられて好印象である。

新キャラの個性も道原かつみのイラストを最初から想定しているようなイメージなので、動いている様子が文章の合間から感じ取れてこれもまた楽しい。

1作＋オマケ一つ、という纏まり方だが、事件の背後についてはこの先も繋がって行きそうで、楽しみが一つ増えた気持ちになる。
2巻目を早く読みたい。

ジョーカーシリーズは旧作から好き。特にこの番外編シリーズ、秋津が好き。ちょっと未来の芸能界って言う未知の世界も楽しい。特にこの作者さんは設定が独特。作風も半分はその未知の世界の設定説明のような感じになってしまってはいるけど、それが楽しい。見たことの無い世界を読者も一緒に感じられる気がする。今あるものと未来にしかないものが混在していて、面白い。その辺がこの作者さんの上手いところなのかも。新シリーズは新キャラクターも増え、前作から数年後の設定。今回はさほど特捜司法官に関しての事件は無し。普通の事件に秋津が巻き込まれていく話。そういう意味では確かに前作までとは大分違うかも。

　JOKERシリーズの最終巻、「ファイナルミッション」のその後を思わせる記述が少しあったのは良かったが、それ以外は現在のハイテクニュースの延長で予想できてしまう場面設定なので、前作の外伝シリーズのような近未来を感じさせる部分の魅力に乏しくなってしまったと思う。立ち回りも少ないし・・・。
　私個人としては、芸能関係の舞台裏を見たいのではなく、特捜司法官の超人的活躍やその時代の雰囲気、大どんでん返しを期待していたので、読み終えてみて、かなり肩すかしを食らった感じだった。
　次回作に期待したい。
