マンガのレビューを書くのは初めてです。

たとえば、雲ひとつない空を見上げていたら、まるで底のない湖を覗き込んでいるような気分になって、空恐ろしくなったとします。

しかし、それを一緒に歩いている人に告げても、まったく解ってもらえません。
いくら説明しても解ってもらえない。

そういう感覚の微妙な捉え方は、他人と共有することはむずかしく、
ましてや説明しようとしても、うまい言葉すらでてこないことが大半です。

ところが、やまだないとのマンガを開くと、同じような捉え方が、何でもないことのように描かれていたりします。

私にとってやまだないとというマンガ家は、そういう作家です。

余談ですが、江國香織という小説家にも近いものを感じます。

この『ビューティフル･ワールド』という作品には、何人かの若い男女の日常が描かれています。
彼らは皆、すこし「フツウ」とは違った生活を送っています。

しかし、自由なようでどこか窮屈な日常に時おり目を見張り、

孤独だけれども、そばにいてくれる「誰か」はきっといる、ということに少し安心し、
膨大すぎる長さの「未来」を思って戸惑う彼らは、
とても健全なように思えるのです。

淡々とページがすぎてゆくなかで、彼らは彼ら自身の「明日」を、
ごく自然に自らの手でたぐり寄せていることがわかります。

そして、わたしたちもきっとそうなのだろうなと、ふと思わされるのです。

あからさまにあたたかい言葉を並べた作品ではありませんが、
彼らのゆるゆるとした日常にそまってゆくと、
まるで綿菓子のようにあたたかな自らの日常に気付かされる、
そんな作品です。

脳みそだけが無重力を感じるくらい孤独に疲れてしまったとき、

この作品を手にとってほしいと思います。

こんな漫画を探している人は多いはず。クールでドライで、でもあったかい。素敵です。描かれている世界は冷たくて厳しいんだけど、でもその上には優しさとか思いやりとかで溢れている感じ。アレックスもモモも素敵だし。派手な展開もなくて、みんなただやってくる日々を暮らしてるだけなのに。この漫画凄く魅力的です。寂しい時に読んだら感じるものは大きいかも。凄くおすすめです。

　ないとさんの作品はどれも好きだけど、愛があれば、君がいれば、世界はそれでいい。と思えるやさしいお話。引力にさえ見放されたような寂しさを感じたことのある皆様にお薦めします。世界はあったかいです。
