99年から別々に発表された短編を、「正体不明の語り部たちが順番に物語を披露する」という形にして、まとめられたもの。
最近はやっている、複数の人気作家がひとつのテーマで描くアンソロジーに発表されたものばかり。
どの作品も心乱れる現実から｢異界」に足を踏み入れてしまうというお話ばかりだが、似た話はなく、この本も、まるで複数の作家が書いたものを集めたよう。オトク感がある。
逆に柴田らしさが見えにくいので、星４つ。

９つの短編小説が収められています。
色々な雑誌のテーマに沿って書かれた、とのことで、
それぞれの小説はテーマも作風も全く違います。
なので、９つの短編小説の中に、割と好きだと思える作品が
ひとつぐらい見つかるかもしれません･･･。
全体的に全てが「いまいち」でした。

色んなお話が載っていて面白いものもありましたが、ふ~んというものもあり。
カバーの髪の毛のイメージから、「もっと怖い話」を想像して読み始めましたが、期待度はかなり外れ。
が、その中でも「ぶつぶつ」は面白かった。普段見慣れているはずのものが、これを読んでからちょっと執着しそうになったりして。
でも一度読んだ後、またもう一回とは思えない本でした。
