柴田さんの従来のイメージをいい意味で払拭する、しっとりとした切ない連作短編集です。

まず、主人公の「ばんざい屋」の女将が謎めいていてとっても興味深く読めること間違いなし。とってもいい女なんで、何故名前が変わったのか、過去を知りたくて知らず知らずページをめくっちゃいます。恋人（？）清水の存在も否のうちどころがなく男としての優しさ満載で、２人の恋愛の成り行きも読み進めていくうちに興味が湧きます。

随所に食欲をそそられる料理の話やアンティークの話が散りばめられており、１編１編楽しく読めることも付け加えておきましょう。まず、１編目の「聖夜の憂鬱」から引き込まれていくでしょう。

ラストの２編においては女将の過去があらわになってくるのですが、感動物で柴田さん??卓越したストーリーテリングが充分堪能出来る作品と言えるでしょう。

読み終わって、“心が暖かくなる物語”です。

１冊でミステリーと恋愛小説の２冊分楽しみますよ。

NHKで放送していた相田翔子さんの主演ドラマ「七色のおばんざい」の原作本。

物語の舞台は美人女将が一人で切り盛りする、
あたたかくこじんまりとした料理店「ばんざい屋」。

この店の常連客の日常に起こるミステリーと恋愛模様を描き、
ミステリーとしても恋愛小説としても楽しめるのが美味しい♪

ごく序盤で女将の過去になにかあることに気づきます。
はじめはあくまで常連客のミステリーが本線となるのですが、
複線としてその過去が小出しにわかるその過程がドキドキ期待感でたままらない。
後半は一気に女将の秘密に迫っていく展開のうまさ！
ページを進む手が止められませんでした。

料理と女将の趣味であるブロガント（骨董の一種）についての描写も細かく、
魅力的に描かれています。
それが非常に食欲と興味をそそります。
「ばんざい屋」の雰囲気も素敵です。
常連客がこのお店に来たくなる気持ちもよくわかりました。
お店の雰囲気の良さが作品全体に反映され、
読んでいて心地のよい本でした。

小料理屋「ばんざい屋」の女将の人柄、ゆったりとした
物腰がとてもいいですね。店に来るお客さんたちが
この店にまた来て、女将の店を贔屓にしたくなる気持ちが
よーく分かりました。

話が進むに連れて、女将の人生の過去が浮かび上がってきます。
女将の心の揺れ。彼女が、これからの人生をどう選びとるのか。

彼女と周りの人間とを結んでいる信頼関係。心の絆。
そこに、本書の一番の読みごたえと味わいを感じました。

いいですねぇ、この連作短編集。気持ちがやわらかく
ほぐされるように読んでいって、読み終えて
清々しい気持ちになりました！
