吸血鬼の存在を前提とした話なので、
いちおうＳＦミステリということになるでしょうか。

一人称の語り、設定の紹介など、
初期の西澤保彦のＳＦミステリを彷彿されるものがあります。

謎は、
吸血鬼以外入れない場所で、
吸血鬼には扱えない十字架を使って、
吸血鬼が殺された、
というもの。

作中では宣言されないが、密室ものです。

そういう宣言がなされないこともあってか、
肩肘張らず、飄々とした文体・展開と併せてすんなりと入っていけ、
謎の解明まで読めます。

まあ、中編で設定説明からやらなければいけないこともあって、
真相は少々強引な感じもしないではないのが残念。
これが長編で、いろいろな小事件として伏線が張られていれば
納得感も増したこのに…。
