初心者向け、建築物の耐震設計の概要説明書。構造設計のベテラン
である著者の経験から抽出したエッセンスが満載です。

印象に残った、設計のポイントは以下の７点。
・構造解析の結果は、直感な変形と合う、力はつり合う、力は強いものが負担する、インプット以上の答えはでない、という原理
・費用をかけずに余裕を作ることや、少しの費用増加で大きな余裕をつくることの重要性
・モデル化の適切さと、同一にはならないことを認識して解析することの重要性
・最適化の基本 = 「安全性を満足し、費用を最小化する」と改めて定義
・「費用の最小な要素で構成するところから出発して、必要に応じて大きくしていく」という最適化のテクニック
・ディテールの大切さ
・塑性化を利用するにしても変形量を制限する大切さ（弾性の2倍程度）

ちょっと散漫でまとまりのかけるところもありますが、初心者だけで
なく、実務者にとっても有益なコツが一杯の本です。
