ヒンズー、仏教、キリスト教、ケルト、ネイティブアメリカンのマンダラが20ずつ収まっていて、すごいボリュームです。原画にかなり忠実に再現されていると思いますが、仏像やキリスト像は全く出てこないので、宗教的なのはちょっと…という人でも全く抵抗なく楽しめると思います。同じ出版社から出ている、マンダラ塗り絵〔スザンヌ・F.フィンチャー著 正木 晃訳　春秋社〕に比べても、こちらはほんとに幾何学的な図案です。

前半に、より癒し効果を得るための塗り方の解説がありますが、私はそれを読んでから塗って、色の使い方とか、ちょっと変に気にしてしまったので、自由に塗りたい方は読まない方がいいかもしれません。

引き寄せられるように購入しました。どうしても気になる・・・。
１００のマンダラを見たとき、少し目が回りました。でもゆっくりと丁寧に眺めていると、「あっ、これ好きだな」と感じるマンダラがありました。
最初の１枚を塗り終えたとき、達成感がありました。塗るのはたいへんだけど楽しい時を過ごしました。
不思議な世界で不思議なリラクゼーションが得られます。

マンダラのデザインに興味があり、いろいろ探って、大好きなケルトのものもあるということで、この本に行き着きました。世界の伝統的なマンダラから選ばれた多様さと美しさは、眺め見るだけでも素晴らしく、大満足でした。さらに、メディテーションの方法も紹介されていて、その通りに意識して、塗っていくと、気持ちが安定するだけでなく、自分の中心が得られ、思った以上の効果があり、驚いています。
